Respect for Bo
Even after a crushing loss on Saturday night, I earned a good deal of respect for Pelini. Yes, the team played terrible and there are some obvious issues with this team right now. But unlike Callahan, who regularly shifted blame for losses to his players, Pelini stood up and was sincere about putting the responsibility on his shoulders. There was nothing phony about his post game press conference and I applaud him for accepting responsibility for the loss. Its a big step and something positive to take away from a nightmarish night. Pelini looked like one of the Husker fans that were devastated by the result of the Missouri loss. Hang in there coach.

I believe that Bo Pelini was a great hire for Nebraska, on the other hand the offense has got to change, they don't even have to run the "flexbone" or the option even, they need someone to come in and get back to “smash mouth football”. The spread offense does not fit the personality of the State of Nebraska or the University. They need someone who is going to install a “smash mouth” offense, if it is an option based offense so be it but they need to get back to running the football, period!!
On another note:
What Tony Barnhart said was right on the money. PJ has never had a defense to help him out especially when the offense is still adjusting and learning, and that fact that he is playing with a true freshman QB. The man knows how to move the ball down the field. It might not be option every time, he does what can to run the football and wear the Defense down. He simply takes what the Defense give him, and when the opposing coach schemes all week or all year, PJ makes one or two sideline or mid-drive adjustments and all that work the DC made is for nothing. Trust me we use to do it to people all the time in high school with our split-back veer offense...Making sideline or mid-drive adjustments is truly what makes a great coach, any decent coach can make an adjustment during halftime, but the great ones can do it on the fly, and PJ is one of those. There isn't a front or defense he hasn't seen...give him a couple of years and they will Top 10 year in and year out...
